Description:

Our Movement and Sports Studies major offers a comprehensive understanding of the scientific and social foundations of movement and its cultural forms of dance, sports, games, and exercise. Students engage in self-selected and career-focused fieldwork in settings that may include YMCAs, fitness centers, colleges/universities, before/after school programs, and more.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  • 4 of  Grade12 English  or  Grade12 Mathematics  or  Grade12 Social Science  or  Grade12 International Languages  or  Grade12 History 
Your course distribution must include the following coursework for admission:

  • Four years of English
  • Three years of math (at least through Algebra 2)
  • Two years of history or social science

    • If your intended major requires extensive science preparation, you should take at least one additional laboratory science course

  • Two consecutive years of foreign language
